2023 Fender Vintera II '70s Competition Mustang Bass Competition Orange
For the competitive soul, consider this great Mustang Bass from the Vintera line!
One of the coolest things Fender did towards the end of the 1960s was the racing stripe as part of its 'competition' series. One of the most iconic examples was the Mustang that Kurt Cobain could be seen with in the 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' video. The competiton series also extended to the Mustang bass, with this reissue from the Vintera line sporting a great 'competition orange' finish. Featuring a compact 30" scale length, the Competition Mustang Bass boasts an alder body with a maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard. Sporting an early '70s 'C' shape neck and vintage correct 7.5" fretboard radius, the Competition Mustang Bass feels excellent and responsive in hand. The inclusion of flatwound strings on this example and a screw down string dampener at the bridge delivers excellent thumpy tones that defy the small stature of this example.
Cosmetic condition is good with little play wear present. There is a small finish split on the treble side of the headstock. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. No case or gig bag included.
